University of Applied Science

Since becoming a higher professional education institution in 2000 we have grown rapidly, investing in updating existing buildings and creating new teaching space to ensure our students have the access to the facilities in a modern and comfortable environment. A good basis for the establishment of Vilnius kolegija/University of Applied Sciences was provided by the former higher vocational schools which ranked among the leading schools at that time: Vilnius Higher School of Electronics, Vilnius Higher School of Economics and Vilnius Higher School of Business. In 2000 having received the external national and international evaluation and developed their new study program these above mentioned schools merged to become a single body – College and later - University of Applied Sciences. Today our campus has eight faculties - a blend of eight interesting old and architecturally new buildings – which are situated either in the centre or in the suburbs of a compact Lithuanian capital. Vilnius Gediminas Technical University

The University provides 88 programmes for diploma engineers, undregraduate and graduate (Bachelor and Master) studies in the fields of Humanity Sciences, Physical Sciences, Social Sciences, Technological Sciences, Biomedical Sciences and Art Sciences. Every year VGTU is provided with more various facilities. Thus, according to Resolution No 860 of Lithuanian Government, the University has got the building of 9073 sq.m.
